A: No. At Jill’s Sausages, we pride ourselves on being nasties-free. That means no MSG, no soy, no artificial preservatives, colours, or flavours—ever.

Q: What is "Natural Flavour" in your ingredients?
Our "natural flavour" is a blend of fruit and spice extracts that are rich in polyphenols—nature’s powerhouse antioxidants. Combined with ascorbic acid (Vitamin C), this helps create an antioxidative environment that protects the natural colour, aroma, and taste of our red meat products—without relying on artificial nitrites or nitrates.

This ingredient enhances both the flavour and appearance of our sausages and hams, giving them the familiar pinkish hue and savoury profile that consumers expect from traditional deli meats, but without any added chemical preservatives.

Importantly, it contains no nitrites (synthetic or naturally derived), and lab tests have shown our products have residual nitrite levels below detectable limits, with no formation of harmful nitrosamines.

As a bonus, polyphenols also support a healthy gut microbiome—just another way we keep things natural and wholesome.
